1968 was a tumultuous year, including events such as the Prague Spring, the Tet Offensive in Viet Nam and the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy. This PowerPoint-illustrated lecture discusses these events and what Shrewsbury was like in 1968, including population, budget, town government, housing prices, what’s gone on and what is still here today.

About the Presenter:
John Campbell is a 37-year resident of Shrewsbury and formerly served many years on the Shrewsbury Finance Committee. He currently serves as Chair of the Historic District Commission. He is married to Shrewsbury High graduate Marlene (Sullivan) Campbell. He has presented previous programs at the Shrewsbury Historical Society on the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology and Shrewsbury native LTG Willard Stewart Paul.
